The Fiji Islands in the South Pacific are an archipelago of over 330 islands of which 106 are permanently inhabited. The two major islands, Viti Levu and Vanua Levu, account for 87% of the population. West of the main islands lie the Yasawa and Mananucas groups. East of Vanua Levu is Tavuni Island with the Lau Group further south.
